Dr. Mohammad Ali Yousefnia graduated with a Doctor of Medicine degree from the Faculty of Medicine, University of Tehran, in 1352, and then completed his general surgery specialty at the same university from 1354 to 1358. He then completed a cardiac surgery fellowship at Shahid Rajaei Heart Hospital in Tehran in 1360, followed by a one-year advanced training program in congenital heart diseases at the Great Ormond Street Hospital and Guy’s Hospital in London.
Dr. Yousefnia is a retired professor of cardiac surgery at Shahid Rajaei Heart Hospital in Tehran and has specialized in pediatric and adult cardiac surgery. He has served as the President of the Iranian Society of Cardiac Surgeons and the Head of the National Board of Cardiac Surgery, and is a member of the European Association for Cardio-Thoracic Surgery (EACTS) and the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS).
He is currently practicing professionally in private hospitals in Tehran, including Day, Nikan, Kasra, and Erfan.
